A food & wine tour in the south of the Piedmont region.

You will discover the typical products of the region and excellent wines renowned all over the world like Barolo and Barbaresco.

A fun truffle hunt is also included. Accommodation is in an elegant farmhouse with all comforts, swimming pool and splendid views.

Day 1 - Turin / Asti
 - Pick up rental car at the airport or rail station and drive to the hotel.
 - Dinner at the hotel

Day 2 - Asti
 - Breakfast at the hotel
 - Morning at leisure
 - In the afternoon transfer to Asti for a visit of this charming town and its medieval buildings. Among the most famous monuments you will admire the gothic Cathedral and the towers.
 - Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 3 - Acqui Terme
 - Breakfast at the hotel and departure for the Acqui Terme, a renowned spa area.
 - This morning you will take care of yourself! Enjoy a bath in a special thermal swimming pool, sauna, turkish bath, emotional showers, hydro-massage and fitness activities.
 - In the afternoon, walk through the ancioent streets of Acqui terme.
 - Aperitif at the Regional winery for a drink with the famous D.O.C.G. "bracchetto" wine (sparkling and aromatic).
 - Back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 - Alba
 - Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the Langhe hills with a panoramic tour of the area of Barolo and Barbaresco wines. You may stop for a visit of one of the many medieval castle that overlook this beautiful countryside of Piedmont
 - Visit of winery "Cordero di Montezemolo" at La Morra with wine tasting.
 - In the afternoon you will enjoy a walk in the old town of Alba.
 - back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 - Asti
 - Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the D.O.C. area of Barbera d'Asti.
 - Enjoy the experience of hunting the famouse truffles with a real "trifulau" (truffle hunter) and his specially trained "tabui" dog, with a final tasting of truffle products accompanied by local wines.
 - Afternoon at leisure - Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight

Day 6 - Asti / Turin
 - Breakfast at the hotel and drive back to the airport or rail station in Turin (drop off car)

The tour includes:

 - 5 overnights stays with daily breakfast and dinner (wines not included)

 - 1 simulation of truffle hunt followed by a truffle adn wine tasting
 - 1 entrance to the SPA center

Notes:
 - The truffle hunt simulation takes place from March to August/September for the black ones, and from September to December for the white ones, with slight variations depending on the year.
 - The excursion includes a visit to the trifulau's house, a walk in the woods with a truffle hunt, and a tasting of typical trufle products with local wines.
 - In case of adverse weather conditions, another excursion can be arranged.
 - The program is not available during Christmas Holidays.
 - The farmhouse's swimming pool is open from April 15 to September 30

 - The rental car is category A economy with manual transmission. Superior categories and automatic cars may be booked upon request
